Ellen Engler Burks Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in memory of Ellen Engler Burks, BA ’99, Life Member, by her parents, Gail, BA ’69, and Chuck Engler, Life Members; her husband, Jonathan Burks, BBA ’00, MPA ’00, Life Member; and other family and friends. After graduating from South Texas College of Law, Ellen practiced with the firm of Powers and Frost, L.L.P. in Houston until her untimely death in 2007. She is remembered for her unwavering love, her open ear, her beautiful smile, her sparkling eyes, her strength and determination, and her open heart.
