Gerardo Castillo Scholarship

The Castillo Family desires to established this scholarship to honor and celebrate Gerardo Castillo. Gerardo was a first-generation college student and has appreciated the opportunities provided by the University of Texas at Austin. His wish has always been to support similarly situated students in not only the education the University provides, but to support the experiences to grow as a young person too—even perhaps by becoming dedicated Longhorn fans like the Castillo Family. A graduate of the University, Gerardo earned his B.A. (Government ’02) and his Master’s (Public Policy ’17) and his wife, Brittany, earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence (Law ’13) from the University too. Prior to attending the University, Gerardo lived in public housing on the East Side in Austin, TX.
