Henry and Roxella Cavazos Scholarship

Life Members Henry and Roxella Cavazos graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with degrees from the College of Communication. Henry received a Bachelor of Science in Radio-Television-Film with Honors in 1968. Roxella received a Bachelor of Journalism in 1970. Upon graduating, Henry was drafted into military service with the U’.S. Navy. Henry and Roxella were married in 1969. After Henry was honorably discharged from the Navy, he and Roxella were employed by the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Roxella left UTMB to attend law school. She became an attorney and successfully practiced law in Houston as a Board Certified attorney in labor and employment law. Henry was employed by UTMB for 41 years before he passed on May 4, 2015. He served UTMB for almost two decades as Associate Dean with the UTMB School of Health Professions. While working, he also earned a law degree.
