Kim Lee Endowed Scholarship in Actuarial Studies

Life Member Theresa H. Lee, BS ’95, created this scholarship to honor her mother, Kim Lee. Kim was trained in both accounting and early childhood education. She has nurtured Theresa’s affinity to numbers since Theresa was a toddler. Theresa’s childhood was full of number games and math tricks her mother had taught her. After the family immigrated to the United States from Taiwan, Kim gave up her love of teaching young children and supported all of Theresa’s endeavors related to math—from participating in math competitions, pursuing a math degree, to becoming an actuary. Kim is a firm believer in the value of education; therefore, Theresa established this scholarship hoping others would get the same support and benefit she received while pursuing her mathematical and actuarial education.
