Matt Dorman Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in honor of Life Member Matt Dorman after he lost his long and courageous battle with cancer on August 3, 2016. Before attending the University of Texas at Austin in 2000, Matt fought his first battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma as a senior in high school and after beating it went on to have four wonderful years at the University filled with experiences that created never ending memories and friendships. After graduating in 2004, Matt continued his support and love of anything related to the University. He was an avid UT football fan, never missing a home game while he was a student or after he graduated. When Matt’s cancer returned in 2013, he refused to let it interfere with attending home or away games.

Matt’s family established this scholarship so that a student facing some of the same challenges Matt had might be able to have the same positive, life ­changing experience at UT. The memory of Matt’s love for UT and burnt orange will never be forgotten.
