Elvira and Rafael Ortega and their children established this scholarship for Hispanic students enrolled in the McCombs School of Business. Elvira and Rafael are founders of La Michoacana Meat Market and seek to support the educational needs and well-being of Hispanic communities across Texas along with their children. As friends of the McCombs School of Business who have demonstrated both through their personal and professional careers their commitment to creating a welcoming environment for people of diverse backgrounds, their goal of establishing this endowment seeks to elevate the educational experience for future Hispanic students attending The University of Texas at Austin, particularly those with higher financial need.
