Los Angeles Chapter Hollywood Seminar Student Filmmaker Scholarship

Priority will be given to current University students who will be participating in the “UT in LA” program and are required to complete a film during a semester of the corresponding academic year. Should there not be a qualified applicant under this criteria, secondary consideration can be given to an undergraduate or graduate student that is required to complete a film for their class, with preference given to Radio/Television/Film majors. Recipients under either of these criteria should have completed one film previously. Should no qualified candidates from either of these criteria apply, the chapter can choose to award to an entering freshman from the Los Angeles chapter area, with preference given to RTF majors.

In order to be considered for this scholarship, currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students must:
• Complete the Texas Exes scholarship application, including financial information (financial need is not required but is taken into consideration)
• Complete a supplemental essay (aka “treatment”) describing the film they completed/plan to complete during class
• Provide a resume detailing their previous filmmaking work or an online source to that work as part of their application
