S.A. and Viola Garza

S.A., BS ’52, BS ’55, Life Member, and Viola Garza, BBA ’48, created this scholarship for Mexican-American students. Mr. Garza worked his way through college and knows the difficulties that many students and their families face in financing higher education. Strong supporters of the University and of education in general, the Garzas believe in the importance of philanthropy and setting a strong example to others. The scholarship is awarded to an outstanding entering freshman who is both a native Texan and Mexican-American majoring in civil or environmental engineering for four years of undergraduate study
